House Updates

We had a great trip to Ikea where we picked up some lighting options. We have installed all of the flooring and painted everything except the mudroom. We have installed some doors and wainscot. Here are some updated pictures.

New light in the entry way...still needs to go up a bit...

New tile in the master bath. Still have one more wall to go, plus we need to pick up the white grout, but I can not wait for this to be finished.

Wainscot in the entry way...

It is back to work tomorrow, but I still look forward to working downstairs as much as we can. It will be done in no time (hopefully!) :)

The perfect night at home

On New Years Eve we skipped going out and had the most perfect night at home. We roasted marshmallows and had smores and also had the most wonderful fire to keep us warm. It was a perfect night; star gazing and talking about how many amazing things we had done in 2011 and all of our precious memories. We had many laughs as well. We also talked about things we would like to accomplish in the new year to come.

After nearly a decade being together, I still pinch myself sometimes wondering when the butterflies will subside. On second thought, I hope they never do. :)

The perfect getaway

So we recently had a "stay-cation" and we went to Lover's Key Resort for a night. This was a perfect gift from my Mom. We stayed at this same hotel the night we were married. We started our vaca with a lunch at Parrot Key. We had the most delicious nachos that had out of this world tropical toppings! We went back to the room and had the PERFECT sunset views from our balcony. We brought some games as well and played while we watched the sunset.

After sunset we headed down to Fort Myers Beach. We decided on dinner at Nervous Nellies. We were lucky enough to get a table on the water and they even had live music.

We then walked around the beach, stopped for ice cream, and star gazed on the Fort Myers Pier. We even became some silly pirates!

We woke up in the morning to take in the sunrise. Our gift even came with matching pajamas. I always enjoy our matching pj's ever year both from my mom and from Jeff's parents.

On our way home we stopped at my favorite place for lunch-Island Cow on Sanibel Island. Even though it was a quick 24 hour trip, it was a perfect getaway for us and a wonderful way to end our trip :)

Back to work we go, but we had a wonderful holiday break at home! <3
