Fourth of July Week

So this past week has been very busy. We were lucky enough to have Jeff's parents in town to visit and we had so much fun hanging out with them! We were also able to get a lot done downstairs too. Our ceiling beam project is almost done, and we love how they look! Stairs are also done, and I am so excited to start hanging our picture frames on the stairway (now we just need Miss Lily to get here so that we can fill the frames!) Every step we make closer to being done gets me so excited. I can't wait to work on Lily's nursery. :)

Lily's Room

Another thing that has been keeping me busy is designing Lily's nursery bedding and accessories. Jeff joked that I spent a whole month looking for the perfect fabrics (he is probably right). I finally found all of the right fabrics and found a wonderful woman on Etsy to sew and make it all for Lily. I really lucked out since I did not really like any of the bedding I saw at the stores, and this is one of a kind bedding that I think will be very special. If any of my pregnant friends/family are interested, I can forward you her information, she is REALLY amazing. You can find her under Etsy or facebook as Little Fingers Gifts. :) These are just a few of the items she will be sending our way soon :)

Stairway in Paradise :)

We still have a lot to do, but it seems as if our "to-do" list is slowly dwindling. It is a wonderful thing to see--things getting crossed off the list. Of course, it is mostly thanks to Jeff, now that I waddle and move VERY slowly. I am still great at being a helper, but it is getting more difficult for me to start/finish projects without his help. Here is a prime example...we just got the stairway done. We still have to paint the wainscot on both sides and hang some frames I have been refinishing, but overall this is a MAJOR thing off of our list. Check out the before and afters! A couple more personal touches...

So, I had seen something like this on Etsy for around $30 each. I decided I could try to make them and save the money, and I don't think they turned out half bad. These are also going into her nursery. Illinois for the place we met and fell in love. Florida for the place we were married, bought a house, and where we will welcome our daughter into this world. Life is such a beautiful thing.

Lily's Nursery is taking shape!

So even though we are not quite ready to start moving things into her room, I have begun, and almost finished with her decor. I found a bunch of white frames at goodwill, the dollar store, on sale, ect... and found things I knew I wanted to incorporate into her room. I stumbled across this amazing site, it is for making your own wedding invitations and table settings, but I made Lily a one of a kind piece of art that I framed and will hang in her room. Here it is...

So Many Updates

So here we are, on summer break, and one of my goals is to be better at updating our blog. Now with so much going on with the house and the baby I know this will prove to be a great way to stay in touch with family and friends and let them know what we are up to. Jeff started his summer job as a fishing camp counselor this week and he could not be more excited. He gets to take kids out on a boat and swim in the ocean, he is in heaven. While he is at "work" I have been doing my best to get things done around the house and hopefully we will have our final inspections soon. I can not wait to get Lily's nursery ready! Here are some updated weekly bump pictures:

Baby Nelson Through the Weeks

So, I had come across these two ideas a couple months before we found out our news, and I just knew this is how I wanted to document our time preparing for Baby Nelson.

I will post pics here so you can see how baby grows :)

Can't wait to post weekly updates :)
We already love the little one so much! :)
